Piper on "Being Mocked: The Essence of Christ’s Work, not Muhammad’s"

While writing my previous post, I received in my inbox John Piper’s thoughts on this. John Piper has written about this violence at his Desiring God website and he explains how it depicts the difference between Muhammad and Christ. Piper indicates that bearing mockery is the essence of Christ’s work and that we, his children, also must bear the shame and ridicule of the cross.
