Calvin on the "Thrice Holy" in Isaiah 6:3

Calvin discusses whether the three-fold repetition, “Holy, Holy, Holy” in Isaiah 6:3 is an OT proof of the Trinity:

The ancients quoted this passage when they wished to prove that there are three persons in one essence of the Godhead. I do not disagree with their opinion; but if I had to contend with heretics, I would rather choose to employ stronger proofs.

So there’s proof, and then there’s Proof.
